Affordable Care Act-Themed Scams

 The Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau are warning consumers about scammers using the Affordable Care Act to attempt to steal personal information and money. The important thing to know right now is that the insurance is not available until October, 2013. So, if you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be with the federal government and inviting you to request an insurance card, hang up. This is not a legitimate call and if you continue speaking with the person, they will try to obtain your personal information, including bank account information.
